Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour opens on Broadway to rave reviews. The drama is set in an all- girls boarding school and concerns the destruction of the two headmistresses after a student falsely accuses them of having a lesbian relationship. The play twice is adapted to a movie, These Three in 1936 and The Children’s Hour in 1961.
